James Milner Named Hardest-Working Player in the Premier League

Tom WebbOct 20, 2015

In one of the least surprising revelations of the season so far, Liverpool midfielder James Milner has been named as the hardest-working player in the Premier League.

That's according to stats compiled by EA Sports. Milner came out on top ahead of Bournemouth duo Andrew Surman and Matt Ritchie.

Perhaps more surprising is the presence of Cesc Fabregas at No. 7. The Chelsea midfielder is generally valued for his passing but finds himself in the league's top eight for distance covered so far this season.

Here's how the list looks in full:

  1. James Milner, Liverpool: 113 km
  2. Andrew Surman, Bournemouth: 108.62 km
  3. Matt Ritchie, Bournemouth: 106.67 km
  4. Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal: 105.39 km
  5. Gareth Barry, Everton: 103.75 km
  6. Etienne Capoue, Watford: 102.99 km
  7. Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea: 101.75 km
  8. Darren Fletcher, West Brom: 101.05 km

Milner looks set to cover even more ground as Jurgen Klopp instills his "gegenpressing" style at Anfield.
