Welcome to the best time of the year, sports fans. The first week of the season is in the books and what a week it was. Here is where I will tell you who I think you should start or who I think you should sit for your fantasy team.
This year, I will give you your obvious must starts (guys you start every week no matter who they play), a few players from each position who you should start, a sleeper start 'em, and a must sit 'em.
Also, I will be giving projections for those players. Enough talk, let’s get down to business!
QB Obvious Must Starts
Drew Brees – NO vs. PHI – Projection: 300 Yards, 4 TD, 1 INT
Peyton Manning – IND vs. MIA – Projection: 285 Yards, 3 TD, 1 INT
Tom Brady – NE vs. NYJ – Projection: 275 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
Philip Rivers – SD vs. BAL – Projection: 275 Yards 2 TD, 1 INT
Aaron Rodgers – GB vs. CIN – Projection: 275 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Kurt Warner – ARI vs. JAX – Projection: 295 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
QB Start 'Em
Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings vs. DET – Favre was a game manager last week, but you can’t help but start him against Detroit after what Drew Brees did to them last week. Especially when his running back is Adrian Peterson. Start 'Em. Projection: 200 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Trent Edwards – Buffalo Bills vs. TB – Despite all the problems in the pre-season, Edwards looked good in week one against New England. This week, he gets Tampa Bay, who allowed 344 Yards Passing last week. Start 'Em. Projection: 270 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
Jason Campbell – Washington Redskins vs. STL – Campbell didn’t have a great week against the Giants last week, but this week he plays the Rams. They allowed 279 yards passing last week and they also have to worry about Clinton Portis torching them. Sleeper Start 'Em. Projection: 250 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
QB Sit 'Em
Matt Cassel – Kansas City Chiefs vs. OAK – Oakland played pretty well last week against a very good San Diego team. Kansas City isn’t anywhere near as good as San Diego and Cassel still has a knee injury and may not play. Sit 'Em. Projection: 175 Yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
Kyle Orton – Denver Broncos vs. CLE
