NASCAR Truck Series at Las Vegas 2015 Results: Winner, Standings and Reaction
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series hit Sin City for a spectacular show Saturday night, and a stunning turn of events with under 10 laps to go allowed John Wes Townley to secure the first win of his career at the Rhino Linings 350.
Pole-sitter Matt Crafton led for a race-high 69 laps at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but disaster struck when his crew informed him that he didn't have enough fuel to finish the race with 14 laps to go. Crafton proceeded to pit with four laps remaining, and Townley bolted to the top of the pack in order to cap off a career night.ย
"These guys did an awesome job with this thing," Townley said, per Fox Sports'ย Jared Turner. "It's been awesome this year. We just stayed up there all day, and I took care of this thing and it took care of me."
NASCAR Trucks on Twitter provided a look at Townley's post-race celebration:
According to Kentucky Speedway on Twitter, Townley now owns four top-five and 20 top-10 finishes in NASCAR truck events.
Racing legend Michael Waltrip and NASCAR's Jim Cassidy both tweeted out their congratulations to Townley, who finally broke through and conquered his first-place demons after coming up empty in his first 86 appearances:

According to NASCAR.com,ย Theriault was subsequently airlifted to the hospital after being placed on a stretcher and flashing a thumbs-up to those in attendance.ย
Popular Speed's Kelly Crandall offered a bit more insight:
On the brighter side, Ben Kennedy finished in third, which matched the best finish of the young driver's career, per NASCAR Trucksย on Twitter.
Points leader Erik Jones finished ninth to maintain a grip on the top spot in the Camping World standings, but he admitted his team's game plan didn't pay off the way he had hoped.ย
"Just a lot of ups and downs, I guess you could say," Jones said, per Turner. "I was saving and saving and trying to get to the end, and just tried to hustle it and hoped it was going to make it, and unfortunately it didn't. It ran out coming to the white (flag). At least we kept our points lead at a decent margin."

With five races left, Jones, Crafton and Reddick are in position to battle for the overall Truck Series title. However, that front-running trio will have to wait three weeks to jockey for position as the home stretch approaches.ย
The Truck Series will get back underway Oct. 24, when the Fred's 250 hits Talladega Superspeedway before the Kroger 200 closes out October's slate at Martinsville Speedway.
It was Townley's night Saturday in Las Vegas, but the 25-year-old will need repeat performances of his victorious effort to pull off a shocker and throttle to the top of the standings with limited opportunities remaining.
