Holyfield Will Likely Be Sidelined for 4-6 Weeks

Chris Kirschner of DawgNation reported that the injury first occurred during a game against St. Pius on Sept. 4. Holyfield originally tried to play through the pain before eventually going to the doctor, and that's when the issue was discovered.
"I cut and my ankle rolled," he said. "I tried to come back right after. When I went in motion, it just gave out. I went to the sidelines and got it taped and played the rest of the game. It hurt all game and the next week, too, but this week it kept hurting and my mom was worried, so she finally took me to the doctor."
Kirschner added that a source close to Woodward Academy stated the back could beat the projected timeline if his recovery goes smoothly.
Holyfield, the son of former boxer Evander Holyfield, is a 4-star prospect who ranks as the No. 5 running back in the 2016 class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. The recruiting outlet notes he received more than 30 offers before committing to the Bulldogs.
Georgia will hope the school exercises extreme caution when it comes to getting him back on the field. Missing around a month at this stage is no big deal as long as he recovers fully. The concern surrounds any possible setback that could lead to a more extended absence.
