(That dude's been on fire all night)

Well, if you're a Georgia Tech fan, this is pretty much the nuclear scenario.

Make no mistake, Miami is really, really underrated, and really, really good.

But Georgia Tech isn't executing on offense or on defense, and they're basically letting Miami dictate the flow of the game in all facets. Seriously, the Jackets are just getting played off the field in just about every way.

If you are a Tech fan, I wouldn't keep reading if you don't like negatives.

  • Jacory Harris might have been right. Miami's offense is silly good right now—they truly are unstoppable. Frankly, the overriding thought in my brain is how impressed I am that Florida State only lost by four to this team.
  • The Jackets, right now, are not a team that handles negatives well. Every time a pivotal moment arrives, Miami steps up and Tech doesn't. That's not coaching, that's just character. (*As I write this, Tech gets called for back-to-back false starts. This is not a BCS team, at least not in this half)
  • I'm not really sure why it is the way it is, but Josh Nesbitt's drop back motion is odd. He's right-handed, but he drops back like a lefty and then turns his whole body around. It takes too much time and gives the pass rushes time to get up-field.
  • Either Tech's offensive line is underperforming, or they just can't play at this level. But for the second straight week, a team they ran comfortable against a year ago is winning every battle in the trenches. Jonathan Dwyer doesn't have a chance.
  • Jury's out as to whether Tech's defense is that bad or Miami's offense is that good. The second half might be a better tell.
  • Miami's got that Miami swagger again.
  • I hate football games on baseball surfaces. I don't ever think it's fair to the players, who are used to playing on grass or turf. I say that for both teams; it's just not how it's supposed to work.
  • Both right now and probably through the rest of the season, this is the most important half of Georgia Tech's season. The Jackets, for all their faults, are down by just two touchdowns. Come out calm and focused and knock some of Miami's confidence back at them and Tech could come back. Continue to play without any real direction or poise, and that's that.

Tech isn't out of this game, not by a long shot. But if they can't get an early stop and an early score, then Paul Johnson's club will find out what the defeated side of Thursday night football feels like.
