Tiger Woods on Schedule for U.S. Open after Knee Injury
During a press conference Tuesday afternoon, the world's greatest golfer and the most recognizable athlete on the planet has announced that he will be ready to compete in the U.S. Open, the second major of the season.
Woods has been rehabbing due to an injured knee, having surgery on it for the third time. He has been witnessed by yours truly at Orlando Magic games, not standing in times of cheer.
Woods stated he wasn't yet ready to play in this weekend's Memorial Tournament, the final tune-up tournament before the Open. He did however acknowledge that he has begun practicing and is even hitting his driver.

Offseason Moves for Every Team š
Woods has 13 career major titles, trailing only Jack Nicklaus' 18 for first place all time.
Woods began the season talking the Grand Slam, winning all four majors in the same season, but failed to win the year's first tournament, The Masters, at Augusta National Golf Club. Woods had tamed Augusta various times throughout his career, as it was the site of his first major title in 1997.
When asked if he has a chance to win the Open with no tune-up event prior, Woods answered "I'm playing aren't I?"
His confidence does not appear to be shaken as he goes after major 14, giving Woods the advantage over a field that he has dominated for the past eleven years.
Also in his golf bag should be the new Gatorade Tiger. I recommend the Cool Fusion flavor, as it is gives me the "Eye of the Tiger" in daily, everyday activities.
With Cool Fusion, which is packed with flavor in electrolytes, in his bloodstream and him being roughly forty times better than everyone else, Tiger Woods and his return to the Open should be a sigh of relief. For him, golf fans, and the sponsors of the event.
