Bad To The Bone! Philadelphia!

Yes this is a gift basket for people who are not Vick fans...It is a Vick's an Eagle Hide Your Beagle tee shirt along with other assorted stuffed puppies then for the rest of us...Eagles fun stuff.  Why do I blog about this?  Because the Eagles sent the school doing the fundraiser a picture of A J Feeley, the guy cut to make room for Vick.  Gee, ya' think they knew this was worthless?  In my infinite wisdom I decided to make A J Feeley a hero and create a package that would still support the Eagles but also cause some discussion.  I feel bad for the school and hope this brings them the cash they need!  So much for the social worker in me.

Phillies magic number was 15 last I check but after last night is either 13 or 14.  I have overdosed on the Phillies this year.  It is much different than rooting for your team when they are coming from behind.  Now we have a front runner and it okay...I am proud, they are good, pitching and hitting will get great postseason, YAWN!  Is there something else on TV? 

People are still ripping Lidge but last season was unusual for any closer so when he is not perfect he gets ripped on talk radio.  Philly fans are very strange animals - we love our teams and love to hate our teams and athletes like Vick get a standing O while a nice guy like Lidge gets ripped.  I will never get it and I have lived my life here (other than 8 years in CT when I rooted for the Phils, Eagles, Pats, Yankees but NEVER Mets, Giants or Red Sox)!   Philly is just one big contradiction.

On to football, not yet boring me...I predicted that McNabb would go down by week 5 - he did it in week 1 leaving Jeff scrambling for a QB ( he is becoming wacko for Flacco).  Reggie Brown is staying with the Eagles which is a good thing because I have his jersey (the only person to buy one I am sure).  Hank Baskett is gone...strange really, but this is Andy Reid's team so everything is strange.  Jeff Garcia is back, good thing. Let's see how Kolb does as a started but week 3 it will be all about Vick.

I am waiting for Vick in week 3 though - waiting for the opposing defense that has the dog lovers and guts to take him out.  I posted that on my facebook page and I had 31 posts - cheers and jeers both. 

Now it is back to the drawing board on my fantasy team because looks like my Eagle's WR needs a WR!  Reggie Brown is available, hee hee.
