Adrian Gonzalez went four for nine, with a run, two doubles, four RBI, and a game-winning HR in the 18th inning. Carlos Quentin went three for three, with two runs, two HRs, and three RBI. Kevin Kouzmanoff went three for seven with three runs, two HR, two RBI, and a walk.
Bengie Molina went four for four, with two runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Jason Kubel and Eric Byrnes each hit a grand slam. Carlos Lee had four RBI. Aaron Rowand, Shane Victorino, Chase Utley, and Seth Smith each had three RBI. Jorge Cantu scored three Runs. Orlando Hudson, Nate McLouth, Geoff Jenkins (three runs), Manny Ramirez, Ken Griffey Jr. (three runs), Brandon Phillips (three runs), Joey Votto, and Andre Ethier each had three hits.
Aaron Cook tossed a complete game, giving up one run on four hits to improve to 7-3 with a 2.82 ERA. Dustin McGowan (seven innings, one run, seven Ks) improved to 3-4 with a 3.90 ERA in beating Gil Meche (six innings, two runs). Glen Perkins (7.2 innings, one run) improved to 2-1 with a 2.77 ERA as he outdueled Justin Verlander (seven innings, one run). C.C. Sabathia (seven innings, one run) and Doug Mathis (six innings, one run) dueled to no-decisions. Jarrod Washburn gave up two runs in a six-innings no-decision. Micah Owings gave up two earned runs in six innings to improve to 6-2 with a 3.73 ERA. He hasnโt been hitting lately though.
Aaron Harrang struck out nine in four innings of scoreless relief. Josh Banks pitched six scoreless innings of relief for his first career win. Clayton Kershaw gave up two runs in six innings with seven Ks for a no-decision. Jose Contreras gave up two runs in eight innings, with 10 Ks in a no-decision.
