WWE SummerSlam 2015 Results: Seth Rollins and Most Memorable Performances

Whether you loved the 2015 edition of the SummerSlam pay-per-view or not, there is no denying that WWE booked an event that will live in infamy with wrestling fans.

Some of the booking may have been atrocious, but several Superstars shined despite the booking, including Seth Rollins, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and The New Day, to name a few.

As Night of Champions approaches in September, here are the WWE wrestlers who put on memorable performances at SummerSlam 2015.

Seth Rollins

Everyone has been focusing on the interference from Jon Stewart in the finish, but the real focus should be on Seth Rollins and how he changed up his game. In one fell swoop, Rollins showed that he has the in-ring ability to be a top face when WWE decides that’s the right booking.

From a gorgeous Five-Star Frog Splash to the fact that he didn’t go after Cena’s broken nose, Rollins showed how he can work as a top babyface. The high-flying will make him a star, but the ability to tell a believable story is his biggest gift.

Now that Rollins has two championships, he should defend both. In the ring, there are few who can stand toe-to-toe with the former member of The Shield, but he should be allowed to carry the company for a while with two matches on each PPV.

If Rollins squares off against both Sting for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and John Cena for the United States Championship at Night of Champions, it will be clear that WWE officials have confidence in him as a main draw.

Undertaker and Brock Lesnar

For just a moment, let’s ignore the finish; we’ll come back to that.

The SummerSlam match between Lesnar and Undertaker was a great showcase of classic storytelling. Lesnar used his brute strength and physicality to dominate his challenger, but Undertaker proved he has fuel left in the tank.

This is the match we should have seen at WrestleMania 30: two of the best in the business telling a convincing story filled with iconic moments. From Undertaker sitting up and laughing in Lesnar’s face to Undertaker hitting the Old School to Lesnar suplexing The Deadman, this bout lived up to the hype.

Despite one of the most atrocious endings in recent memory—only WWE could make both men submit instead of having neither man tap out—this match should be remembered as much for its quality as it will be for its titanic failure at the end.

The New Day

One of the best parts of Raw every week is when The New Day hits the stage and the ring.

All three men are having fun with their characters, allowing the fans to connect with the performers. At SummerSlam, The New Day finally got the tag team championship it so richly deserved back from The Prime Time Players.

Whether you love The New Day or think it's annoying, the gimmick is working to perfection. Add the fact that the trio of heels is now slated to square off against The Dudley Boyz, and SummerSlam weekend was great for Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods.

As the top heels in the division and extremely entertaining, the hope is that they are not merely used as transitional champions for The Dudley Boyz. Instead, Bubba Ray and Devon should be working to put over The New Day.
