Rosen Trying to Live Up to Hype with Bruins
Rosen arrived in Los Angeles as a 5-star recruit in the Class of 2015, according to Scout.com.
"Rosen may be the most college-ready quarterback in this class," 247Sports' Barton Simmons wrote in January 2015. "He is polished, has size, has arm strength, and he is extremely intelligent."
Things have not gone smoothly for the Bruins, who are 3-6 and have lost four straight. Rosen has had his erratic moments but is firmly entrenched as the starter. After completing 60 percent of his passes for 3,669 yards and 23 touchdowns against 11 interceptions last season, Rosen has hit on 59.3 percent of his attempts for 1,915 yards and 10 scores against five picks this year.
Mike Fafaul has filled in for Rosen since his injury. He doesn't have the same combination of dropback passing attributes as Rosen does, but the redshirt senior is familiar with the team's system.
He has thrown for 779 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions on 55.7 percent passing this season.
