Dale Earnhardt Jr. Wears Dale Sr.'s 2001 IROC Uniform for Moment of Reflection

Kyle NewportAug 24, 2015

Thanks to a fan's incredibly kind gesture, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was able to take a moment recently to reflect.

Last month, a fan came up to Junior at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and handed him Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s 2001 IROC (International Race of Champions) uniform:

Senior wore the suit during an IROC race at the Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 16, 2001. Tragically, he would die two days later in the final lap of the Daytona 500.

Per Jared Turner of Fox Sports, the fan had bought the suit on eBay and felt like Junior should have it.

The fan's generosity gave Junior the chance to try on the uniform before putting it away in a safe place. It must have been quite the moment for him.
