Louis Saha once stated that Manchester United was the best team in the world, revealing his joy of playing for the club:

“For a striker, it is like heaven—even in training,” Saha said. "There is no better team in the world than Manchester United. Later, you can always ask to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona. But I am a fan of the Premier League. Every year, it is more and more difficult.”

Unfortunately for Saha, injuries have plagued his career with Manchester United, and the former Fulham striker only played a handful of games this season.

Sir Alex Ferguson even described Saha as the “complete striker,” but Saha has been unable to prove his worth this year. The United number nine finally recovered from injury during the final weeks of the season, but Ferguson opted not to throw him into the mix with so much at stake.

And unfortunately for Saha, it appears as if his career at Old Trafford is drawing to a close. Now the question that remains is: Will Saha ever appear for Manchester United again?

Ferguson is adamant on keeping his players rather than letting them go and weakening his squad’s depth in the process, but it appears Saha could be allowed to leave if United can find a replacement.

An endless list of names have been reported as possible replacements should Saha leave, with Dimitiar Berbatov and Huntelaar the most likely to be recruited by Ferguson.

If Ferguson does sign another striker over the summer, it will give Saha’s exit the green light. But if Saha does leave, he will be keen to remain in the Premier League.

The Frenchmen stated earlier this year that with competition in the Premier League so fierce, now is not the time to leave England.

It remains to be seen, however, if Saha will even be leaving Manchester United.  But if United do sign a striker, don’t be surprised if Saha is playing against Manchester United next season, instead of for them.
