As Arsenal slumped to successive defeats in Manchester last weekend, critics, fans and possibly even the Arsenal board, started questioning Arsene Wenger's ability and the players commitment.

The season is currently shaping up to be another trophyless one for the Gunners and some even suggest that the North London side may fail to retain their place in the sacred "Top Four."

With the likes of Tottenham and Manchester City both spending money and benefiting from it, many can see the two sides overtaking the Gunners unless there is improvement at the Emirates.

Why Arsenal may be evicted from the Top Four is simple: management.

When the transfer window slammed shut as September arrived, Arsene Wenger had managed to sign one signing-talented Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen. Not to many players expressed desire to sign with the North London side, but there were some.

Marouane Chamakh and Blaisie Matuidi were among the few who actually wanted to be part of Arsenal. However, Wenger neglected the interests, refusing to pay appropriate money to restrengthen his squad.

When a top team goes four consecutive seasons without a trophy, the correct thing to do is bring in new talent. Accepting that players grow, Wenger still should be adding new quality to his line up.

The reasons that Manchester City and Tottenham are strong at the moment is there use of money. Money can bring power and dominance in football. Arsenal do have sufficient funds, they sold Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City for £40 million.

Another reason Arsenal will fail to win the league and possibly a top four spot is there squad. Pure and simple, Arsenal do not boast a Champion winning side. They are undoubtedly a talented bunch of youngsters but they do not boast a dominant force.

Another glaring reason is if you are to be an imposing side you do not loose games like Arsenal did against Manchester United. Your keeper should be able to make correct decisions and on no circumstances should you be heading the ball into your own net.

The season has still got a long way to go and Arsenal could easily re-emerge as a dominant team.
