Lay Off Lyoto Machida, and What's Next for the Undefeated Brazilian Samurai?
Three rounds of pure excellence.
I thought Machida had a brilliant game plan throughout his whole fight with Tito. Tito, who is supposed to be an expert wrestler also known for his special ground and pound, never even had a chance.
The Brazilian Samurai was elusive, struck accurately and stayed ahead of Tito the whole fight. My problem is that the whole time I'm watching this masterpiece, I hear more than half the room behind me booing him and yelling "boring."

Kyle Busch's Cause of Death Released
While everyone always wants some kind of finish, its not always a viable solution. Don't get me wrong, I was screaming for it when he took him down in the first and was pounding on him. I was screaming for it and of course Tito gets saved by the bell.
Lyoto won unanimously and it may not have made him the star it was supposed to, but it definitely showed he was smarter than most, as he stuck to his game plan and never let up.
Jon Fitch is the same way and his last fight with Chris Wilson was no different than Lyoto's with Tito. Wilson may not be Tito Ortiz, but lately all Tito has been in this sport is a name, not a talent. Fitch's fight was a brilliant and decisive game plan, nothing exciting nor spectacular, but it worked. And what was the end result of that. We have Fitch vs. St. Pierre at 87 for the title.
I say Lyoto should have one more challenger, and then if he should prevail, a title shot. Many can speculate who that should be and I've gotten a few ideas of who that could be:
Thiago Silva: Think about it, both are undefeated, and both have their own little group of fans calling for a title shot. This would settle it once and for all.
Dan Henderson: Should he go back up to 205 instead of staying down at 185, he would make a great test of his skills.
Wanderlei Silva: Think about it, if everyone says Lyoto is so boring, lets see how he would stand up against someone who will truly press the fight. And think about it, it's the perfect scenario. If Lyoto wins he now has proven himself, and gets his shot at Quinton or Forrest, whoever should win. And if he were to lose put Wanderlei in the title fight, that gives you a possible third Quinton vs. Wanderlei, or you see Forrest go after another MMA top Star in Wanderlei.
Chuck Liddell: Same as Wanderlei, you have a guy who will press the fight, and a guy that's gonna stand up and strike. Hes also known for his more unorthodox style, and once again you've got the winner facing Quinton or Forrest, with either possibly being another great fight.
That's what I got for y'all right now. And yes i said y'all, I'm a Texan what can i say. I'll be back with my 85 predictions, as well as other MMA rants and raves. Oh and I'll include a brief about me next time.
