Reid Comments on Peters' Injury

Sunday, Nov. 20

"His hip is just killing him," Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said after Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per Blair Kerkhoff of the Kansas City Star. "I just sent him home just to get off that leg and make that thing better. Let's just start back up tomorrow with rehab and get going with it."

Peters Has Emerged as One of NFL's Top CBs

Not only did Peters shine in 2015 on the way to earning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, but he also solidified himself as one of the league's most feared cornerbacks throughout the course of the breakout campaign.

All told, Peters tied for the league lead with eight interceptions—two of which he returned for touchdowns—and topped all defensive backs with 26 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl selection.

"Offensive guys always make fun of defensive players, that they play defense for a reason, because they can't catch," Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said in September, per ESPN.com's Adam Teicher. "Well, he can catch everything. If it hits him in the hands, he catches it. If it bounces up in the air, he catches it. What a tremendous talent."

Peters has continued to strike fear into opposing signal-callers to the tune of five interceptions, 15 passes defended and 34 tackles.
