Is There a Better Big Game Coach Than Tommy Tuberville?

Tuberville

Icon9-1 in his last 10 games against top 10 teams.

5-0 at Auburn against teams in the top 5.

Won 12 of 13 SEC road games.

7 consecutive seasons with a win over a team ranked in the top 10.

Won 6 of 8 Iron Bowls and the last 5.

Let me ask the question again: is there a better big game coach than Tommy Tuberville?

Here's another question: is there a worse coach at playing at 11:30AM than Tuberville?  Vanderbilt comes calling at that exact time this Saturday.

Wes Byrum writes his own "We Are Marshall" moment

A freshman in the swamp.

Usually a recipe for disaster, but not this night.  Wes Byrum should thank all the Florida fans that were sitting in the lower level.  At the swamp, the sidelines are brutually close to the fans.  Byrum was called every name under the sun while warming up for his game-winning kick.

"It doesn't get any better than that," said Byrum, who is from Fort Lauderdale. "That's a dream situation to be in there with three seconds left."

He nailed the kick not only once, but twice.

Controversy over the TO?

Speaking of having to make that field goal twice—some are calling Urban Meyer's decision to call timeout "bush league."

But why?  He did everything he could within the rules of the game to give his team an advantage.

The same tactic worked against the Oakland Raiders...why not try it against a freshman in the swamp?

Some are calling for a rule change.  That would be impossible.  How can you stop a coach from using a timeout before a ball is snapped?

Urban Meyer's decision to call timeout was the right decision—it just didn't work out how he had hoped it would.
