Manchester United News: David De Gea Reportedly Not Impressed with Frans Hoek
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is apparently unimpressed by the methods of Red Devils goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek.
The Spaniard's Old Trafford future is very much up in the air, and a move for De Gea to Real Madrid is widely expected before the close of the transfer window.
The most recent reports suggest that, while De Gea has conducted himself very well during the constant speculation surrounding his switch to the Bernabeu, he is not happy with Hoek, along with the rest of the goalkeeping unit, per the Daily Mail's Chris Wheeler:

"To further complicate matters for Van Gaal, [Louis van Gaal's] keepers are understood to have reservations over the methods of coach Frans Hoek, who moved to Old Trafford with the Dutchman last summer. De Gea, in particular, is said to be unimpressed but will not kick up a fuss, in keeping with his conduct since Madrid's interest became known.
"
Hoek has worked with Van Gaal for years, first joining up with the Dutchman when he became manager at Ajax in 1991.
He has overseen the careers of the likes of Edwin van der Sar and Victor Valdes, and he is widely respected as a high-quality coach.
However, if De Gea is indeed unhappy working with Hoek, this may be another factor in the 24-year-old's seemingly inevitable departure to Real.
De Gea is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and last season he was largely responsible for United finishing in the top four of the Premier League, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
His return to Madrid to join Real—he began his career at Atletico—has been mooted for some time now, but the switch has been drawn out over the summer.
Van Gaal has now apparently sanctioned De Gea's departure, but the United hierarchy are still eager to bring in as much cash as possible from the sale after hopes of a swap deal for Real's Sergio Ramos disappeared, per the Mirror's Simon Mullock.
Wheeler suggested De Gea could start in goal on the opening day of the Premier League season against Tottenham on Saturday, but that could well be his last match for United, with Ajax's Jasper Cillessen being lined up as a replacement.
Real coach Rafael Benitez has been coy over the signing of De Gea, but he is surely desperate to add him to his squad, with veteran Iker Casillas having recently departed the Bernabeu, per SuperSport:
Sergio Romero was recently brought in at United but mainly to act as back-up to the No. 1. The goalkeeping situation is far from settled at Old Trafford, and much activity is expected between the posts during August.
