WWE Breaking Point: My Thoughts, Preview, and Predictions!!

Matthew HesterSenior Writer ISeptember 12, 2009

Hello, everyone. As always, I would like to thank all of you for spending a few minutes with me today.

Well, well, well, I guess it’s about that time again for another WWE PPV. This time we are being treated to one of Vince’s new concepts. He is giving us Breaking point, a PPV that is backed with the concept of submission matches.

I actually like the concept of this PPV. The only problem I have see with it is the lack of wrestlers to pull off submission matches. Looking at the matches on the cards I only see a few that are truly technically solid.

With all of that said, I am going to go into this one with the glass half full. We complain all the time about Vince giving us the same stuff every month. At least he is making a solid effort to try something new.

So with out any further delay, I give you my Breaking point predictions and thoughts.

Khali vs. Kane

I have one question regarding this match. Do we really need to see it again? This dull pointless feud has gone on a little too long if you ask me.

We are in round two of this classic never ending feud. This time it will be in a Singapore cane match. How these two will pull off a good match on Sunday is beyond me. I just hope that it’s quick and painless.

I can only see this bout going ten to fifteen minutes. I have no idea who will come out with their hands raised in this one. If I had to take a wild guess, I would say the great Khali.

Khali wins

Kofi Kingston vs. the Miz

This match kind of took me by surprise. While I am happy to see Miz get a title shot. I though for sure it would have been Swagger in that spot. Either way I don’t see how this will be a bad match.

Both of these men can deliver the goods in the ring as far as I am concerned. I would have liked to seen a little more build up around the match, but I wont nit pick on the matter. This could end up being the show stealer, if both men work to they level they can.

I have a feeling we are in for a real treat with this match. I could see this one going fifteen to twenty minutes. I don’t think Kofi’s days are done as champ. I like him to come out ahead in this one.

Kofi wins to retain his title

Big Show and Jericho vs. MVP and Mark Henry

I have to be honest with everyone here; I’m really not feeling these guys as a team. When Jericho and Edge won the belts it felt right. They had a chemistry with each other that clicked very well.

With the Big Slow, that chemistry seems to be missing. I’m not sure how much longer they plan oh having these two hold the titles, I get the feeling though, that it wont be to long before they drop them.

At Breaking Point they will face of against MVP and Mark Henry. This is another odd pairing I’m not to sure of. I think they just threw them together so they could find something remotely meaningful for them to do.

This match should be good if they let MVP and Jericho wrestle the whole match. Once they tag in either show or Henry, that’s when the match starts to lag. Neither the Big Show nor Henry has the ability to carry on a big match anymore.

I see this match hitting the 20 minute mark, how good the match will be I’m not to sure of. I don’t think we will see the end of Jericho and shows run. I like them to hold the straps at least one more month.

Winner Big Show and Jericho

William Regal Vs. Christian

If any match should have had a submission stipulation added, it should have been this one. Both of these guys really know how to throw down in the squared circle. I think this match can also be another show stealer.

After their last match, we knew this feud was far from over. The WWE has done a solid job building up for this title match. Both of these guys have done a great job going into the match.

As far as the match goes, I don’t see how there will be any problems. Both men know each other well and have prior history together. They are both very good in ring vets that can bring it come game time.

I hope they let these two go at least 20 minutes. It should be a real treat watching this one unfold. In the end I like Regal to come out the victor.

Winner and new ECW champion William Regal

DX vs. Legacy

This match reeks of gimmick, I’m not sure if I get the point of a submissions count anywhere match. If I didn’t know better, I would just say that this gives them a way to run all over the place and beat each other up.

I have a funny feeling this match is going to end up being a long one. They will brawl all over the place, and it will some how end up back in the ring. I don’t think the match will be bad or anything. I just can’t get stoked for this one though.

I can easily see this match hitting the 30 minute mark. DX won the last match between the two. I like Legacy to come out the winners in this one.

Legacy wins

Orton vs. Cena in an I quit match

Normally this is where you would hear me complain about seeing these guys wrestle for the umpteenth time. You will not hear it from me this month. The reason being, is because I enjoy a good I quit match.

I think these two will go on to give us one hell of a match. These guys are going to beat the holy hell out of each other tomorrow. It will be a brutal and bloody affair to say the least.

I also think this will finally be the match where we see Cena take the strap. Orton has had it for some time, if you go by today’s standards of a long run. Not to mention the fact that I can’t see them having their top face say I quit.

I think this will be another long match, it will be fought all over and it will be worth the watching. I like Cena to pull of the win and dethrone Randy Orton of the title.

Cena wins and becomes the new WWE champion

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk

I feel bad for CM punk. He finally gets a convincing win over hardy on smakckdown, and who is his next opponent? Why it is none other then the Undertaker. It’s like the WWE just wants to F@#k with the guy.

Unless they plan on running a feud with these two, there is now way I see the Undertaker loosing this one. This match is really a catch twenty two if you think about it. If Punk retains then it weakens the Undertakers big return.

If the Undertaker wins the title, it only makes Punk look worse then they already have done to him. Not to mention the fact that their was no build up what so ever for this match. The Undertaker came back and was just decided that he would be the number 1 contender.

I’m sure the match will be fine when all is said and done. Both know how to put on a good match. So I’m not too worried about that aspect of things. I just wish they would have taken the time to build this up a little.

I like the Undertaker to win this one.

I would like to thank all of you again for spending some time with me.

As always, have a great day and God bless
