Celtics-Pistons: Boston's Bench Golden in Game Two
I am an all-out Pistons fan, but a hand clap is due for the Celtics. If you had told that the Big Three would score less then the rest of their team a third of the way through the game, my question would have been: How much did Boston lose by?
When Garnett and Allen had to sit early in the first, it's like the starters never left. P.J. Brown and James Posey came in, and made sure that lead didn't slip away.
For the seven minutes Garnett and Allen were on the bench together, and nothing changed. It wasn't the Pistons' shooting night, really. I mean they had a lot of good open looks, and they forced a little, but they couldn't buy a basket.

In Game Two, Stuckey had 13 points, and Boston's bench had six. Now, away on the road, the Celtics' subs broke out and put up 35 points.
Perkins had 12 points and 10 rebounds en route to a double-double. Rondo and Posey had 12 points each. Brown, Cassell, and Davis combined for 11 points. So they're scoring from every direction.
But I think it's safe to say the Celtics won't do that again. Maybe at home, but not again on the roadโthat's crazy.
For Detroit, Stuckey had another great night with 17 points. Hamilton had 26 points. Billups, Prince, and Wallace combined for only 22 pointsโand 12 of those were from Wallace.
So, I mean, really Flipโgo ahead, sit Billups, start Stuckey, and win your next game.
I say that, because late in the game Flip didn't know when to put Billups back in. Detroit had a rookie who had been playing like a six-year All-Star, and Billups acting like he didn't know what day of the week it was.
Let's be realโBillups is getting shown up by the rookie Stuckey. Some people might say this is just for nowโbut I got this Stuckey kid playing like this on a consistent basis. Call me stupid, but I hope you'll be watching Monday night.
