On September 10th the Pittsburgh Steelers begin the season against the Tennessee Titans. This will mark the beggining of their championship defence and their shot at a repeat. While many are saying the steelers may repeat again as champs, i tend to disagree. Yeah i know their the Pittsburgh Steelers, "The Greatest Franchise in Sports" as some people might call them, but there are many reasons why i do not see them getting another title.

.Targets-I say the word targets because thats exactly what they are. After winning the title you automatically have a giant bullseye on your back and the Steelers are no exception to this. Last time i checked the Steelers followed a super bowl winning season with an 8-8 record. Yes, i know big Ben got injured and didn't play much the whole season. So, its different this time around Ben has no off-season issues no more....NO wait theres those sexual assualt allegations! People can also argue this team is way better than the team that won the previous super bowl. Which i find to be true, but players like Hines Ward, James Farrior, Aaron Smith, etc. are all aging.

.Running Game-Pittsburgh is known for its physical running game. They always run first, pass second. Well that wasn't the case last season, they finished 23rd in the league in rushing yards. Way below Pittsburghs standards. I really don't see thing getting so much better this year. I mean Willie Parker is still suffering from that broken leg and has some knee issues. Rashard Mendenhall is heading into this season with a pretty banged up shoulder and where he only got 58 rushing yards last season. And do not lie to yourselves by thinking for a bit that Mewelde Moore could be the answer to their problems, and I say that with respect.

.O-line-Pittsburgh is lucky Big Ben is a great, not good, but great mobile quaterback. He got sacked so much last year and thats with having great legs and awarness. This Steelers offensive line has to step up big, because Ben had to leave several games because of a big hit he recieved during a sack. This proved true against the Eagles when the Steelers O-line allowed 8 sacks. Ben would have to leave that game. If I was Ben i woud give them a piece of my mind and tell the O-line to keep him of the ground.

.Tom Brady- Yes, i said it. Brady is back and I bet he is back with a vengeance. He missed all of last season and the Steelers took advantage of that. I bet anything if Brady was healthy all last year, Pittsburgh would not have 6 Lombardi Trophies. I think this year the pats will be a key factor in the Steelers not repeating. There is also so much teams in the AFC that i see emerging this season.

.LUCK!-Now come on i know James Harrisons 100 yard interception return and Santonio Holmes big touchdown grab require a lot of skill. Yes I know that, but the Cardinals showed very poor judgement on those two plays. Kurt in throwing it right to Harrison and the rest of the team by not tackling him quick enough. The Catch is just something great, but Ralph Brown, the Cardinals cornerback, should have gone full stretch to at least tip the ball. I mean those two plays basically won the game for Pitt, but i really doubt that a 100 yard interception touchdown return and a circus catch in the closing seconds is in their playbook. So i really do think the Steelers got lucky last season, but i don't think they are as fortunate this season.
