Kobe Bryant Is the One Who Will Beat the San Antonio Spurs

Jason OMay 23, 2008

Los Angeles Lakers’ coach Phil Jackson is 40-0 in his coaching career when his team wins game one of a playoff series.

The Lakers have yet to lose at Staples Center.

These would make a lot people think that the Lakers have got game two and perhaps the series in the bag. These people know nothing about basketball.

When you are playing the defending champs, the series is never in the bag, and you have to play very good basketball to win four games.

The Spurs showed in their series against the New Orleans Hornets that you can never count them out, and they can come back from almost any position.

No one can write of a team with the best ever power forward to ever play the game, the best sixth man, and one of the top point guards in the league.

The 20-point lead they blew will hurt them, but if anything, it's motivation to play even harder than they did in game one, get that 20-point lead, and hold it.

The Lakers looked down and out with five minutes to go in the third quarter, and then the amazing happened. The man most capable of changing a game did just that.

Kobe Bryant started to shoot rather than pass, and scored 25 points in the second half.

If the Spurs had won game one, I would have expected them to take the series.  Now, I think the Lakers will do it.

I don't see them losing at Staples Center, and I don't see Kobe scoring just two points in a half for a long time. When Bryant started to get going, the Spurs’ defense didn't have an answer, which will bother them going into game two.

But in saying that, Pau Gasol really struggled to guard Tim Duncan who scored 30 in game one.

If the Lakers can find away to stop the ball getting to Tim Duncan down low, the Spurs will really struggle.

Kobe Bryant will always find a way to get the ball. Teams have been trying for years to find the best way to guard him, and so far, no one has.

Bryant holds the key to the Lakers’ success. If he plays well, the rest of the team plays well. And if he keeps going how he is, the Lakers will win game two and probably the series.
