We are now less than a month away from the start of the 2009-'10 NHL regular season, and I think it's a great time to start publishing my fantasy preview articles for every single team.

When looking at a player and predicting how he will fare offensively this season, there are a lot of things to look for. Is the player at an age where he will improve or decline? Is he playing with new line mates this year? Did his team acquire some players who may push them down the depth chart?

Those are just a few of the questions needed to be asked and I believe I can accurately predict a player's point totals for the upcoming season. Of course, things like injuries are impossible to predict, so these are best case scenarios.

2009-10 Depth Chart

Forwards

Bobby Ryan-Ryan Getzlaf-Corey Perry
Joffrey Lupul-Saku Koivu-Teemu Selanne
Erik Christensen-Andrew Ebbett-Mike Brown
Evgeny Artyukhin-Todd Marchant-George Parros

Defensemen

Scott Niedermayer-Ryan Whitney
James Wisniewski-Nick Boynton

Sheldon Brookbank-Luca Sbisa

Goalies

Jonas Hiller
Jean-Sebastian Giguere

Sure Bet: Ryan Getzlaf

The 24-year-old hit 91 points last year and is a candidate to hit 100 points this time around. Expect more than the 25 goals he scored last season as well.

Dark Horse: Saku Koivu

Koivu wasn't bad last year, getting 50 points in 64 games, but he is now playing with his fellow countryman and friend Teemu Selanne. I think he can come close to the 60s this year.
