Golden State Warriors Parade 2015: Twitter Reaction, Photos, Videos, GIFs, More

The Golden State Warriors captured their first championship in four decades Tuesday night by edging the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the 2015 NBA Finals. On Friday, they took the chance to celebrate the title with a parade and rally for their fans.

Stephen Curry, who won the Most Valuable Player award after leading the team to a 67-15 record during the regular season, wasn't sure how to sum up such a memorable season but promised a terrific event to wrap it all up, as Danny Penza of the Eureka Times-Standard noted.

"I can't put it into words, but when we get back and have this parade, it's going to be a party," Curry said.

The Warriors certainly delivered on that prediction for the massive group of supporters who showed up in the Bay Area.

Huge groups of people lined the parade route and made their presence felt, as the team highlighted:

Not only were all of the players, coaches and team staff part of the festivities, but there were also some special guests who joined the party.

MC Hammer's awesome vehicle he rode in with Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf was showcased by Casey Pratt of CSN Bay Area:

120 Sports also captured Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch on top of a bus with Draymond Green:

Of course, the guest list wouldn't be complete without Curry's daughter, Riley, who stole the hearts of many with her press conference appearances. ABC 7 Bay Area showed her hanging with dad and the Larry O'Brien Trophy:

The consistently raucous cheering throughout the route was amazing. Usually there's a certain ebb and flow with these types of celebrations, but it sounded like Golden State fans were letting out 40 years of frustration for a few hours straight to create an awesome atmosphere.

Wendy Thurm captured both the loud crowd support and a few fans climbing into a tree for a better look as Curry and Co. drove by:

Don't say the MVP didn't get his lifting workout in Friday, either, via NBA TV:

Green wasn't content hanging out on top of the buses, though. He hopped off and started spending a little more quality time with the fans, per Mark Jones of ESPN:

After the parade ended, the entire group arrived for the rally.

Lynch, who's notoriously quiet during football season, gave a lengthy interview to CSN Bay Area about the Warriors and the Oakland area. He even shared a special moment with Green's mom, who was talking about her son's rise, as Michael Lee of the Washington Post noted:

And let's just say Green was having some fun of his own, per Sam Laird of Mashable:

NBC Bay Area showcased the crowd on hand at the rally as the crowds from along the parade route migrated to the finish line:

Owner Joe Lacob, who spoke with a noticeable sense of relief, talked about how things have changed over the years, as Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group spotlighted:

Star shooting guard Klay Thompson heaped praise on Curry, according to LOLKNBR:

Thompson also snapped a selfie of himself on stage with the trophy in front of the crowd:

Leung pointed out that Green had an interesting term for head coach Steve Kerr:

Green also passed along an anecdote that perfectly summed up his relationship with his coach, according to Sam Amick of USA Today:

As for Curry, he put the whole experience into perspective, per SportsCenter:

These moments for both players and fans are extremely special because it's unknown when the next one may arrive. The Warriors organization had to endure 40 years between titles, and their celebration after finally returning to the mountaintop was exceptional.

That said, the Warriors could be on the brink of sustained greatness. Winning 67 games in the tougher Western Conference and advancing to win the championship is nothing short of a dominant season, and it paints a promising picture for the years ahead.

A repeat will surely be their ultimate goal heading into next season. There's still some partying to do to celebrate this one, though.
