Creature Vs. Creature Writers Pool: Results After The Pep Boys Auto 500

Sunday night at Atlanta looked more like what Wednesday night in Eldora will look like, as every car on the track seemed to be sliding around as if on dirt. Everyone was loose and hanging on for 325 laps in the Pep Boys Auto 500 that had Kasey Kahne in victory lane.

As for our Creatures, they had very rough nights as their picks were scattered throughout the field with only Mark Martin bringing home a ten top finish. Because of that there were no changes among the standings as we head into Richmond for the final race before the Chase.

Here are the updated point standings as we head for the Chevy Rock and Roll 400, the last opportunity for our Creatures to get 10 extra bonus points.

Ben Bomberger (3,638) Jimmie Johnson finished 36th (2)

Kelly Crandall (3,436) Jimmie Johnson finished 36th (2)

Mary Jo Buchanan (3,368) Tony Stewart finished 11th (0)

SM Napier (3,285) Kyle Busch finished 13th (2)

Adam Heasley (3,087) No Pick Sent (3)

David Phillips (2,732) No Pick Sent (2)

Kara Martin (2,094) Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished 17th (3)

James Broomhead (1,858) No Pick Sent (2)

Mason Dunn (1,712) Mark Martin finished fifth (0)

Rob Tiongson (1,701) Mark Martin finished fifth (1)

Danielle Henderson (1,645) Kyle Busch finished 13th (2)

Jen Preston (1,534) Clint Bowyer finished 29th (1)

Kyle Ocker (1,043) No Pick Sent (1)

We’re down to one to go in the Race to the Chase.

Who will lock themselves into the top 12 in points? And will one of our Creatures snatch up the last available 10 bonus points?

Check back on Friday to see whom our Creatures will be relying on come Saturday night.
