I am very happy the Miami Heat didn't get the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft.
They didn't deserve it. Karma has set in and given them No. 2.
The Heat were dreadful this season and were one of the worst teams ever.
First, the Heat lost 15 games in a row. In one game, Miami scored just 54 points in a loss to the Toronto Raptors, which is the third lowest point total in the shot clock era. Only the 1998-99 Bulls (49 points against Miami) and the 2002-03 Nuggets (53 points against Detroit) have scored fewer points in a game.
The Heat broke their own record, by making just 17 of 59 field goal attempts in their loss to Boston, which is the lowest of all time in the shot clock era.
Injuries to Dorell Wright, Udonis Haslem, Alonzo Mourning, Shaq (earlier) and Jason Williams have been one of the main reasons the Heat played so poorly.
The reason I didn't want the Heat to get the No. 1 pick is because they gave up. Towards the end of the season, all they were thinking was the lottery.
The Heat played no-name players like Blake Ahearn and Kasib Powell towards the end of the season.
Pride means nothing to this Heat team.
Other teams like New York and Minnesota were still playing as hard as they could the whole season and trying to improve, yet Heat coach Pat Riley went on a three-day trip to evaluate top college players.
He left his struggling team when they needed him most. I don't agree with this.
When a team has no hope of making the playoffs, you would think it would motivate them to finish the season well and try to improve as much as possible before next season.
Not the Miami Heat.
I feel sorry for the public who went to watch the Heat play, only to see them lose again and again.
They gave up and thankfully didn't get what they wanted. They are going to get an exceptional rookie in either Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose, but they won't get to choose which one.

Comment to my stellar collegue, Miami did not tank...They were smart. They weren't going to do any better than they were and needed to see what type of talent they had. The players played hard and I think it gave the management valuable time to evaluate how the new look Heat will look. They have to keep Marion and if the second overall pick is bad karma, I'd like to have it every year. Both players will be impact players next year and both are ready to produce straight out the box. However the trip by Riley can be overblown. I think that sometimes when it is clear that you may be in the running for a special player, you may need to take a personal look see. Dwayne Wade's future may hang in the balance (3 year contract!! remember). With that said, these are grown men. You speak of them like their a bunch of high schoolers. The evaluated their talent, tried not to aggrevate key injured players in Wade and Marion and got a chance to take a hard look at someone that they will need if they are to keep Wade in the future. We don't want a Kobe situation. Players are always looking at what's going on. If I'm the Heat I like Beasley, Rose or Hibbert. Yes Hibbert, unless negotiations are good with marion and Elton Brand may be on their radar. In that case, Rose or Beasley. The Heat have a legitmate need at point as well as interior defensive presence.

Are you guys retarded?
Do you guys know the Bulls lost to the D-League Heat at the end of the season?
Do you retards know what it is to be playing your best players hurt when your record is 9-33 at one point of the season?
NEVERMIND it's pretty obvious you guys are retards if common sense doesn't kick in.
I had to watch that damn Heat team that didn't stand a chance on most nights and for you retards to say that the Bulls were more deserving of than a team with a top 4 worst record is retarded.

It's funny how a team that trades old-Shaq for Shawn Marion in the middle of the season is considered to be "tanking" but that's the kind of retards you have here on the Bleacher Report.

And I hope you sissys can man-up and handle the truth about your retarded opinions.
I want to see if there is any real debate here and not just the biased reporting you guys are feeding to your dumb fan base.

First of all, you use of the word retard in well over used. You say everyone on bleacher report is retarded, yet you have joined the site.
You talk tough over the keyboard yet you have added nothing of any value in any of your comments. The Heat played for the #1 pick, and teams shouldn't be rewarded with the #1 pick if they give up. They played poorly, they played with no purpose or pride. The Timberwolves, despite having no chance of making the playoffs, put there best team on the court every night, and gave it 100%. Its obvious they were playing for the #1 pick because the coach went out scouting players before the season had ended.

Why don't you do some anti-HEAT campaigning and shit on them some more.

"Sorry but I don't read the post of a tool like you Jason."
Yet you are here again having read the article and previous comments.
And again, what you say is pointless and adds nothing to the debate. you said "I want to see if there is any real debate here" I give you my views, and you comeback with some crap about anti heat campaigning.
I think its best if you comment site, and just never log back on because you have been a member for a day and talked nothing but shit so far.
