Zac Robinson has been the unsung hero for the Oklahoma State Cowboys ever since he stepped onto the field. In his first appearance he showed the crowd the potential that he had within seconds, scrambling for a first down as fellow quarterback Bobby Reid watched from the sideline.

Since Robinson has taken over the starting quarterback position his sophomore year, he has done anything and everything that he could to win.

But that's not all he provided. According to head coach Mike Gundy and many of his current and former staff members, he has contained the "IT" factor from the very beginning.

Some believe that its his ability to make plays when it seems impossible to do so, or his uncanny ability to provide energy when the Cowboys seem dead.

But all that is wrong.

It is not his ability to provide a spark of energy, or his play-making, but his ability to stay level headed, even in the toughest moments.

What Robinson provides to this energetic team is more than leadership and a will to win. But his ability to stay calm, cool, and collected while staring directly in the face of the most impossible circumstances.

Robinson has helped revamp the entire Cowboy Football program into what soon could be one of the best in the nation. Loaded with not only a talented core of youngsters and very savvy veterans, but the nations newest and one of the best facilities, Robinson has revived a program that was nothing more than a joke for many many years.

The leader of this football team is followed by some of the most talented players at their respective positions, not only in the Big XII, but the nation.

Starting three preseason All-Americans, junior wide-out Dez Bryant, junior running back Kendall Hunter, and senior offensive lineman Russell Okung.

As well as a savvy group of veterans on defense, led by seniors linebackers Patrick Lavine, Donald Booker, Andre Sexton, and defensive back Perrish Cox.

The Cowboys look to continue their resurgence into the spotlight by starting off their season against a very talented Georgia team that is looking for redemption after a disappointing season.

But, no player on that field will have more to prove than Robinson, hidden by the shadows of fellow Big XII quarterbacks Colt McCoy (Texas) and Sam Bradford (Oklahoma).

As Saturday approaches and the bright lights of newly renovated Boone Pickens Stadium are light, eye's from all around the country will be focused on the Cowboys and Robinson.

Entering his senior season, Robinson has already done so much for his school, his teammates, and himself. Soon he will go down in history as one of the best to ever put on an Oklahoma State uniform.

The cool, calm, and collective Zac Robinson, enters the season a hero, and has all the tools around him to leave as a champion.

It's time to turn on the lights and let it all unfold.
