It's Official: Desmond Howard to Ruin College Gameday

The first sign that Gameday was deteriorating was, undoubtedly, when Nick Lachey appeared and did this.  But one could view that as an isolated indiscretion.  After all, that was a correctable, one-off event.

Now, however, something far more insidious is taking place:

And then, there is this gut-wrenching announcement:

The song, “This is Our Moment,” captures the passion and dedication of the players to perform at the highest level each week with the understanding that every game counts.

It will be used during game and studio telecasts and during promotions of upcoming programs and show elements across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360.com, ESPN Mobile TV and ESPN International. On select occasions, the song will be accompanied by a video montage of Chesney performing at a recent concert, along with college football highlights.

If that was not awful enough, the Big & Rich traveshamockery reveals that Desmond Howard is now a full-fledged member of the Gameday crew.  Ick.

I could go on but I will proxy my disdain to Orson and Hinton.
