We have no chance is what they said quite frankly we are the outcasts, the true underdogs, a molehill next to mountains yet on perfect January night in 2006 we did it we Beat the Georia Bulldogs for the Nokia Suagar Bowl! With RS Freshmen QB Pat White and true Freshmen RB Steve Slaton We won a game that shouldnt have been close a team thats speed was from the Holy SEC it couldnt be beat it was a bolt of lightning from Gods hand! But when the game clock hit Zero we were victorious we had not only out run the Dawgs in the first half but held on to win it when the game was on the line. With a first year starter at qb we started our campaigne as the only team in history to win 4 straight bowl games with the same QB. Well This year my friends we are not a team who has unknown talent or a young idealist as a coach who uses plays he invented or discovered we do not have what be the best QB in college football history , we once again are the underdogs the outcasts afterthoughts and not worthy to be mentioned in the same sentence as the sec teams. But i will tell you what we do have we have a coach that cried after our only national championship trip ended in defeat, a coach that loves our football program, our school, our state, our people so much that he did anything he could to improve this team for years. He sat on the sideline out of our thoughts and when the ultimate was asked of him to be the person who would step up and be willing to take the ridicule after a bowl game we should have lost, he was our hope.

And then our first two losses of the season came and we were ready to throw him back we wanted a coach who would just run the dang football, not a coach who was trying to make this the best football program in our history or prepare us for the times where we couldnt run the ball. There is no denying the fact that he made some big mistakes in his first year and he needed to know of our displeasure but when it was all said and done he came through for us. You know I have heard people say he just seems to nice a guy to happy go lucky if you will but that isnt my estimation of him at all I say we have a Mountaineer as a Coach!

On a final note i will say our run and passing game seem to be going very well not perfect but well, and with the I formation back in our playbook I have an idea for a Season Moto.......Mountaineers will Run Free!
