A lifelong Chief's fan has endured alot over the past 20 years. It has been year after year of disappointment. Season after season, we have entered the year thinking this might be the year for the Chiefs to finally do something. Year after year we are let down.

In previous years, there was some change, but for the most part, it was more of the same. This year has a different feel to it.

The Chiefs that ended the season last year no longer exists. That organization is history. The only thing that is for sure is a Hunt owning the team and a place called Arrowhead.

From the top to the bottom, the Chiefs have been overhauled. The front office is gone. The roster will be less than 25% turnover from last year. That is unheard of. The changes have been both major and minor. The biggest being trading for Matt Cassel and the smallest being trading for Mike Vrabel, both with the same pick. Go figure!

The feeling is different this year. No, I do not think the Chiefs will win the division. I don't think they will make the playoffs. The feeling this year is that we are now, finally, heading in the right direction.

I believe the key to this change is not a player, it is the coach. I believe Kansas City hired the best available coach. Todd Haley will become the premier coach in the NFL. My reasoning is simple. ATTITUDE.

You will buy in to the Todd Haley system or you will not be a Chief. That has been made perfectly clear. That has been proven true already this offseason. Just ask Will Franklin, Dwayne Bowe, and some lineman that will soon be looking for work. He will cut you and not blink an eye. He will send the star that is full of himself to play with the third string. He will have Pioli trade for lineman that will buy in and dump you.

I heard this comment today, "Just because you got on the bus going to River Falls, that does not mean you will make the return trip" The Chiefs have been very active, even during preseason. The statement is being made. Either you are in or you are out.

The Chiefs are on the rise. Will it be this year? Maybe, but I doubt. Will this season be a sucessful? Yes, I believe it will. What is your definition of success? Wins, Performance, Attitude? It's attitude!
