DeAndre Yedlin Makes Premier League Debut vs. Aston Villa
United States international DeAndre Yedlin came on as a substitute against Aston Villa on Saturday to make his Tottenham Hotspur debut three months after officially moving to White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino put the former Seattle Sounders starlet on in place of Vlad Chiriches with Spurs trailing 1-0 to Aston Villa at White Hart Lane, per the club's official Twitter account:

Since moving to England earlier this year, Yedlin has made steady progress with Spurs' under-21s and finally made his bow in the English top flight. Twitter user Manoli posted an image of the youngster's introduction:
Some might have predicted the speedster would've earned his Tottenham debut at an earlier stage, but the transition from Major League Soccer to England's top flight is a severe one.
Unfortunately for Yedlin and Spurs, his debut didn't have the impact he might have hoped for, as the north London hosts ran to a 1-0 defeat. Tottenham provided Yedlin's comments on his debut and the loss:
Bleacher Report's Joe Tansey confirmed the right-back was slightly uneasy:
In fact, the defender was almost left red-faced as a surge from Villa midfielder Fabian Delph left him desperately tracking back and almost giving a penalty away, according to FourFourTwo's Chris Miller:
With his side losing at the time, Pochettino's decision to field Yedlin seemed an obvious attempt to inject pace into his side's approach, the one attribute his emerging full-back holds in spades.
However, Yedlin didn't come upon many opportunities to make use of that pace and found himself tasked with monitoring the opposition mostly in what was a frantic first appearance for the senior team.
That being said, Yedlin can hope Saturday's cameo marks the beginning of a bright journey through the Premier League ranks, with more involvement perhaps to come this term.
