Alfonso Soriano, Chicago Cubs Hope to Continue Winning Ways on the Road

It has been about a week since my last article, mainly because I have spent the last week or so trying to remove my foot out of my mouth for bashing Soriano.

Chalk it up, here comes praise for the guy. He has had an unbelievable week, one of the hottest weeks a player could ever have! Thank goodness too, because Derek Lee has gone MIA. He has been hitting like Felix Pie the last few weeks.

The Cubs were most impressive during their 10-game homestand (8-2), but now they are going for a real test, beating someone other than the Pirates on the road. The Cubs have not been too impressive on the road, but this week's Houston series could give the Cubs a good cushion in the division, leading up to the month of June, which has been the death bell for many Cub seasons in the past.

Some thoughts from the 8-2 homestand

To Alfonso Soriano, I would like to send my sincere apology. You have made me look like a fool...please keep it up!

Carlos Marmol is absolutely amazing, with one exception.

I really enjoy the song "Go Cubs! Go!"

The Pirates issue more walks than I did in Little League

Big Z is strong, hopefully it was just one bad inning!

San Diego has perhaps the worst offense in league history

The Cubs finally took advantage of opportunities. Always nice when Ramirez and Fukudome come up in big spots.

Geovany Soto is our rookie of the year. Yeah, I haven't read that one on any websites lately.

Ted Lilly has returned for the 2008 season. Thank you for coming in three weeks late.
