Hope everyone has been enjoying all of Handicapper Craig Trapp's Football Previews and Predictions. Today he turns his attention to the ACC and the preview and predictions for 2009. Oddsmakers have this years ACC race very close a reflection of how good this years conference is going to be.

Florida State Seminoles (+250 to win ACC): Up and down is how everyone described last years FSU squad. Coach Bowden is hoping that a ton of experienced returning will help this team be much more consistent. QB Chris Ponder was very solid last year and many around the Seminoles camp think he might have a really big year and some even are whispering Heisman talk. The defense was the really big problem last year but look for Mickey Andrews to work his magic and have this team back near the top in the ACC. A tough schedule is the only reason this team doesn't reach double digit wins but 9-3 will get them to the ACC Championship and most likely an Orange Bowl bid.

Virginia Tech Hokies (+200 to win ACC): Frank Beamer and the Hokies finally broke through and won their first BCS bowl game in the Orange Bowl on New Years Day. The special teams and defense as always will carry this team to another great season. But the good news is the offense finally has a leader in Tyrod Taylor. His athleticism might be the best since Michael Vick and his improving passing skills might surprise opponents this year. The Coastal division is not nearly as good as the other side of the ACC so the Hokies will definitely be in the ACC Championship game and another 9-3 season at worst.

Miami Hurricanes (+500 to win ACC): The eye of the Hurricane must reside in Coach Shannon's office and the pressure is on for him to win this year. Might have the best talent of any team in the ACC but a ton of young talent and a very tough schedule will test this years team. The defense has a chance to be one of the best defenses in the country if they can get the young kids in the right place. Offensively this team has a ton of weapons but the offensive line must improve if they want to get far. An 8-4 season should make all fans happy and the future will be bright as they won't lose many and 2010 might be favored to win it all.

Clemson Tigers (+550 to win ACC): The most disappointing team in 2008 and many other past seasons is trying to now surprise the ACC in 2009. Craig has listed CJ Spiller as his top Heisman darkhorse and if the results come to fruition watch out. Coach Swiney looks to bring change and hopefully better results. The offense will be very good but the defense is not quite ready to take this team to the top of the ACC. An 8-4 record will have the Tiger nation roaring.
