Blake Griffin Battery Case Dismissed: Latest Details and Comments
Battery allegations have been hanging over Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin's head since November, but the five-time NBA All-Star can now focus solely on basketball, as the case was dismissed Tuesday.
According to The Associated Press (viaย ESPN.com), the 26-year-old power forward was accused of slapping a man and grabbing his cellphone at a Las Vegas nightclub in October. Prosecutors dropped the charges, however, due to a lack of proof.ย ย ย ย
Following the decision, Griffin's attorney, Richard Schonfeld, commented on the matter, per Ben Bolch of theย Los Angeles Times:
According toย Austin Knoblauch of theย Los Angeles Times, Griffin previously felt as though the allegations against him generated unneeded attention.
"I mean, I feel more bad just for the fact that it's a distraction," Griffin said. "And I don't know how big of a distraction it really is, but it is. And that's what I feel mostly bad about."
With any potential legal issues now a thing of the past, Griffin's main concern moving forward figures to be helping lead the Clippers to an NBA championship.

Griffin returned to the lineup on March 15 after missing 15 games with an elbow injury, and while he is still trying to find his footing, he and the Clips have a golden opportunity to make some noise in the Western Conference.
