Brandon Flowers to Re-Sign with Chargers: Contract Details, Comments, Reaction
The San Diego Chargers have retained a key component to their secondary in free-agent cornerback Brandon Flowers.
The Chargers confirmed the four-year deal on Monday, via their Twitter account.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter originally reported the agreement:
Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego provided the financial parameters of Flowers' deal:

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1 referenced how Flowers acquitted himself well when he took on a short-term deal in San Diego last offseason:
Pro Football Focus highlights just how effective Flowers played in 2014:
Now Flowers is reaping the rewards in a big way. The 29-year-old had spent his previous six NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs before joining the AFC West rival Chargers for last season.
Numerous injuries caused San Diego to underachieve, yet the team still won nine games amid the adversity. One big reason for that was how well Flowers played on the back end.
Flowers' experience had to have an impact on first-round pick Jason Verrett, who's somewhat diminutive (5'10", 178 lbs) but extremely physical and can play the nickel position or line up on the outside.
Based on the reports, Flowers has raked in quite a payday, which should impact how the other top cornerbacks on the market fare in free agency. It goes to show how valuable players in the defensive backfield are in this pass-heavy age of the NFL.
If the Chargers can stay healthier in 2015 and Flowers can maintain his high level of play, there's plenty of reason to believe San Diego returns to the playoffs.
