Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth has responded to the news that he'll be suspended for all of the 2009 season.
And, fittingly, he has shared his views not via a press conference or a statement released to the media, but on Twitter.
"TO ALL MY FAM IN THE LEAGUE: GOD BLESS YALL, STAY HEALTHY, GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON!!! I'M WATCHIN EVERY F--KIN GAME," Stallworth initially tweeted, sans dashes.
He has since deleted the tweet and replaced it with the same quote, substituting "damn" for the "F" bomb. (You can confirm it for yourself by entering "D_Stallworth18" at Tweleted.com.)
Apparently, Stallworth has been feeling optimistic about his chances. In the wee hours of Thursday morning, Stallworth posted this message on his Twitter page: "NIGHT YALL.... PRAY FOR YA BOY PLZ... I CAN FEEL IT IN THE AIR!! KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED... TOES TOO (eeeeewww) GOD BLESS."
We know Stallworth is trying to move forward productively, but neither of these tweets harmonize, in our view, with the sense of profound remorse and contrition he previously had cultivated.
