Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News reported that the "Wichita Police's investigation into Joseph Randle is still ongoing."
Randle's Marijuana Charge Dropped, Ex-Girlfriend Files Protection From Abuse Order
Friday, Feb. 6
KAKE News reported that "Wichita Police have dropped the possession of marijuana charge against Dallas Cowboys running back and Wichita native Joseph Randle.ย Friday morning, Lt. James Espinoza said that although the drug charge was dropped, the case "is not over" and charges can be re-filed later as the investigation continues."
However, it appears Randle's troubles don't end there. Lauren Seabrook of KWCH reported that "the situation led Jacobs to file a protection from abuse order, asking the court to keep Randle away from her." Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reported the order was filed on Wednesday and Randle could face a six-game suspension.
Seabrook also provided more detail on the situation itself:
"She says when they were at the hotel, she started to feel uncomfortable when Randle got aggressive and yelled at everyone to leave. Jacobs says she grabbed her child and went to the parking lot with another woman.
"
She put her son in the car and says she saw Randle pull out a gun. Jacobs says Randle waved the gun at them and threatened to shoot out the tires. She says she begged him to stop because her son was in the line of fire. "I just couldn't imagine seeing my son get shot by his own father," said Jacobs.
Jacobs says Randle finally walked away while she got into the car. "Joseph puts his gun up. He walks back to the car, he looks in it, and then he just punches it with his fist," said Jacobs. "Glass splatters everywhere. There's glass in my son's hair. It hit him and that's when he starts crying."

Randle Arrested on Marijuana Possession Charge
Wednesday, Feb. 4ย
Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle is facing more legal trouble, as he was arrested on Tuesday morning in Wichita.
Stan Finger of The Wichita Eagleย has the report:
Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News provided details from the police report:
Perย Hannah VanHuss Davisย KWCH 12, the alleged victim in the fight claimed there was also a weapon present:
Deb Farris ofย KAKEย adds more context to the reports:
Brandon George of theย Dallas Morning Newsย reported that a hearing date had been set for Randle:
Randle'sย agent, Erik Burkhardt, deniedย that his client had been arrested:
"Joseph Randle was NOT arrested. He was cited with a ticket, and the police officer then left his hotel room.
โ Erik Burkhardt (@ErikBurkhardt) February 4, 2015"
"There was zero "violence" of any kind, domestic or otherwise. He was asking 3 ppl to exit his room, who didn't want to leave. (Cont)

"It was loud. Cops were called. Ticket issued. People and officer left. He went to bed.

Despite those claims, ESPN's Todd Archer passed along word from Wichita police that the running back had, in fact, been arrested.
Randle was previously arrested after stealing underwear andย a bottle of cologne from a Dillard's in October, which retailed atย $123.50. The Cowboys fined him a game check.
"It's the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life," Randle said after his October arrest, viaย Tim MacMahonย of ESPN. "I've never gotten in any kind of trouble in my whole life. This is just something I'll have to learn from and move forward."
It would appear Randle hasn't moved forward, and he'll now face discipline from the NFL if he is convicted of the misdemeanor charge. The running back is a complementary back to DeMarco Murray in Dallas. He rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns this past season.ย
One thing is for certainโthe Cowboys will have a hard time trusting Randle as their No. 1 back if Murray departs in free agency this season. In the past year, Randle has simply had a hard time staying out of trouble.
