Seattle Seahawks 12th Man Flag Raised by Dave Matthews on Space Needle
As a famous Seattle resident who roots for the Seahawks, Dave Matthews was on the shortlist for local exhibitions of football-related civic pride.
As such, it was inevitable that the singer-songwriter would receive the green light to raise the 12th Man flag atop the Space Needle in downtown Seattle.
The Associated Press (h/t The News Tribune) reports that Matthews went about this honorary task Thursday, raising the 25-by-36 foot flag on high from atop the Needle.

The flag is brand new, according to the Associated Press, and will replace the old 12th Man flag that was damaged by strong winds. This newer, spiffier article will remain flying through the Super Bowl on Sunday.
As for Matthews, I don’t know if Seattle residents are going to be blasting “Ants Marching” at their pregame parties. I, for one, prefer that Beast Mode remix.
