Real Madrid CF, or simply put, the royal club of Madrid: Real Madrid.

Given the history, last year was a disaster: No reinforcements—But now we have 'em so lets get down to them.

What makes a good Real starting XI??

That's the question Sir Alex didn't fathom because it went above him I suppose...(Not at his IQ level, above it)

Here we go then...

Real Madrid's Squad has the greatest mix of talent on earth currently.

But talent is nothing until you translate it and it needs the time to be translated. For me, for Real to translate it, we need a pretty complex formation with a tight hold on the susceptible left wing.

Formation: 4-5-1

GK: Of course Iker Casillas. But I would prefer Adan as his deputy and not Dudek...

Defence: We can safely bet on a Ramos-Pepe-Albiol-Arbeloa defence. Actually it would be good with Metzelder present to sort out any problems and Drenthe getting better and better along with Marcello.

Midfield: This is where El Classico might be fought, in the midfield—its us versus 'em.

Pairing Lass with Xabi would be great as Lass can win the balls while Xabi has good passing skills. Add to this Cristiano on the right with Granero on left and Kaka as AM and we'll have quite a midfield.

One addition I would like is Juan Mata. With his contract in the air it would be better if Perez and Co. get the one who got away. Guti and Robben along with Sneijder—a dream bench I would say.

Attack: Traditionally Real dominate every team here always (Last year was an exception). I would say Benzema up front.

What causes problem is the Raul factor.

The Captain could come on as a sub but then you have Higuain best player last year still left. I would love to see El Pipita if we could force a midfielder out but then it would mean Lass goes and leaves Xabi alone, exposing Pepe and Albiol that would cause doom —Guess thats why they say too many cooks spoil the broth.

Anyway I would go for this:

Sergio Ramos               Pepe                    Albiol                Arbeloa

                              Lass                             Xabi

Cristiano                                                                       Granero
