Weather Delays in Nascar...This is driving me nuts!

I have been sitting here since 1:00 p.m. central time watching ESPN's coverage of this week's race at Pocono. One problem, the race is in a rain delay. So I have been treated (can you smell the sarcasm?) to an hour of Rusty Wallace, Brad Dougherty, and the rest of the pre-race characters.

While it's nice to have the time to go in-depth on some of the more interesting aspects of the sport, but then they just continue to drag out more useless TV. I really don't care if Jimmie Johnson is playing Xbox or if Jamie McMurray is a newlywed.

I would rather watch some other ESPN programing than see them drag this out for an hour or more. I think for once, the MLB has the best scenario for this. Do twenty minutes of talk, then go to other programing. Then break back in every so often and update the status of the game or event.

Then again, maybe this would be a good time for Nascar to attempt rain tires and wipers on the car. They tried it in Canada, why not break it out for a test run at a regular track. Just wishful thinking I guess.
