Per Mike Garafolo of FoxSports.com, Ngata was regretful for admittedly taking the banned stimulant Adderall.Ā Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome expressed disappointment as well.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirms that Ngata took Adderall:
Field Yates of ESPN reported how much money the suspension will cost Ngata:
The 30-year-old Ngata has long been the anchor of Baltimore's defensive line, and he is a big reason why the Ravens allow just 86 yards per game on the ground.
Baltimore is currently ninth in the AFC although it is tied with the Miami Dolphins and four other teams for the final playoff spot at 7-5.
The Ravens don't play a team with a record of better than 7-5 in any of their final four games, but the stretch will undoubtedly be a challenge without Ngata.
If they can find a way to qualify for the postseason, however, they will receive a huge boost since Ngata will be eligible to return when the regular season concludes.
