Jackson Seeking Falcons' 1st Back-to-Back 100-Yard Rushing Games Since 2011

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 2, 2014

After running for 101 yards on 18 carries in Sunday's 29-18 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Steven Jackson of the Atlanta Falcons will head into Monday's game against the Green Bay Packers seeking his franchise's first back-to-back 100-yard rushing games since Michael Turner accomplished the feat in October 2011, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.

Remarkably, Jackson's showing on Sunday represented the Falcons' first 100-yard rushing game since Week 9 in 2012, when Turner rumbled for 102 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in a 19-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Even for a team known for its pass-heavy tendencies, it's rather surprising that the Falcons have gone more than two years between 100-yard rushing performances.

During the 35-game stretch (not including playoffs) between Jackson's and Turner's 100-yard outings, the Falcons had 20 separate individual performances of 100 or more receiving yards, accounted for by Julio Jones (eight), Roddy White (seven), Harry Douglas (three) and Tony Gonzalez (two), per Pro-Football-Reference.

Interestingly enough, the bookend games of 100 rushing yards both saw two Falcons go over 100 receiving yards, making for three different players with at least 100 scrimmage yards.

For the Falcons' last back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances that weren't put together by Turner, you have to go back to Weeks 1 and 2 of the 2006 season, when Warrick Dunn accomplished the feat.
