South Carolina Football: 2009 Prediction

Gamecock faithful have an exciting season to look forward to because as usual we have a very tough schedule in 09.

We start the season with NC state a team that should much improved since last year's spanking at William's Brice. The Wolfpack return all ACC QB Russell Wilson and several upperclassmen on the defensive line.

The Gamecocks will win a tough first road game for few reasons the main one of course being defense. Cliff Matthews and the Dangerous Mr. Norwood  will use their speed to provide an effective pass rush while our top secondary blankets receivers. Wilson is a dual-threat QB, doesn't turn the ball over much, and will produce given the chance.

QB Stephen Gilmore will have to have a big day and Moe Brown needs to finaly become the speedster he's supposed to be and take a few screens for big games like Kenny McKinnley did. Jason barnes should be a go to on deep routes and slants at 6'4" spreading the field so we can get some life in to a..... lets face it just sorry running game. The offense has to get better for us to win this year.

Coming off a big win in Raleigh the boys should be ready take on Georgia in Athens.Tough games like this early on will prepare the team for the tough SEC games later in the season. I think this year will be the year the Gamecocks live up to the hype finishing second in the SEC east with a 10-2 record with our only losses to Alabama and Florida.
