Think It's Time to Panic For Arsenal?

With the sale of Kolo Toure to Manchester City, the last Invincible has left Arsenal. It may be a sad day for many long time Arsenal fans to see this chapter in our history finally closed.

Within just a few hours of Toure signing with City, there are already people coming out and saying the season is over and that Wenger has no idea what he's doing. Of course, he does actually know what he's doing.

Whatever happened to the whole "Keep the Faith" idea that was going on a few months ago. That only happened when Arsenal started on that 21 game unbeaten run. The matter of the fact is that many people lose faith the second there is a sign of trouble?

Toure had a lackluster 2008/09 season. It may have been due to that bout of malaria, but he definitely hasn't been the same player this season. So it may just have been best to sell him off for the reported £16 million which is a nice sum for a defender.

For now, people seem to be forgetting that we have Vermaelen now. Even though the preseason games so far haven't been all that competitive, Vermaelen is a good defender who is more than capable of filling Kolo's shoes.

Having Senderos back from Milan is a boost as well. His Arsenal future is entirely up to him and if he chooses to stay that will also add some backbone to the defense.

We also have Djourou and Gallas who can play there is always Silvestre if the worst case scenario happens. There is also Alex Song who has been impressive in the last few months and can cover for the center back position.

All in all, a lot of Arsenal fans have become attached to Kolo. While it's a sad thing to see him go especially to a potential rival, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Another thing that people think is that now Arsenal has £40 million to spend, and the cost will go up if there is truth behind Eboue's departure. The truth is that he has already spent quite a bit of the money on Vermaelen.

So the money may not be there necessarily. The only concern would be a partner for Cesc in the middle.

This is not completely necessary though since we know that Nasri can also play in the middle. If Rosicky can stay fit this season, there is no doubt that Nasri can cover for Cesc down the middle.

A few people are also concerned about the replacement for Adebayor and would love to see another big guy to be a post player. With the return of Eduardo though, it may not even be necessary because we all know how good a finisher he is.

Adebayor might need five chances to score a goal. Eduardo only needs one.

Is City a potential threat? Not really.

Consider this, they have enough strikers to make a full team, a terrible defense, and a so-so midfield. With the amount of players coming in and the number of people in the squad, the chance for team chemistry to form barely exists. They are hardly an immediate threat so Arsenal fans, there is nothing to worry about.

Keep the Faith!
