A disappointing 2008 has the Packers motivated to try and recover from a 6-10 season. One thing is for certain that this offseason they did not have to worry about the Brett Farve drama that they did last summer. Instead this summer has been all business and that can do nothing but help them prepare for a better season. Today Handicapper Craig Trapp will give his predictions and preview of the Packers. Offensively the Packers were pretty good last year considering they had a ton of injuries and a new QB under center. Aaron Rodgers was above average and for the most part the losses were not on his shoulders. Last year this team finished 5th in scoring and many experts have quietly said that this team might be top 5 again. Ryan Grant had a slow start to the season on the ground but did recover nicely the last 6 weeks to accumulate over 1200 yards. Driver and Jennings are a very good 1-2 punch at WR and if they can stay healthy should make Rodgers job much easier this year. This year they won't be down nearly as much so the passing yards might come out less but expect better efficiency running the ball.

Defensively the Pack were in the bottom half of the league in almost every defensive category. Lucky for them last year they did create a ton of TO's and that was there saving grace. In the draft they did get two starters for this years defense with Raji at DT and Matthews at LB. Raji has the chance to be one of the best players of this past years draft. The Packers were horrible stopping the run last year but these two will really improve the run D. Still lacking some needed speed will improve to the middle of the league on defense. This defense does not need to win games for the Pack but they just need to make it a little tougher to score points and give there offense some rest.

Most are picking the Vikings and Bears to battle for this division. But really neither of these teams have consistently put points up with there offenses. The Packers could present huge problems for both of these teams as any game they play they can score 30 plus. The over under wins for the Pack is currently 9 games, 9-7 is a lock and 10-6 is more likely, take the over here!
