Bush Out for Week 12
Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com confirmed Bush was inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots:
"It appears the Lions are giving Reggie Bush the Calvin Johnson treatment.
After suffering an ankle injury vs. Buffalo earlier this year, the Lions sat their star receiver down for three games (including a bye week) in order to get him closer to 100 percent.
The Lions are taking the same approach with Bush, as their starting running back is inactive and won’t play today in New England. It’ll be the second-straight game missed for Bush and the fourth this season because of ankle troubles.Like they did with Johnson, the Lions want this ankle issue behind Bush before he returns to the field.

Bush Expects to Play vs. New England
Reggie Bush commented on his injured ankle and status for Week 12, via Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com:
"The Detroit Lions running back said Monday that he expects to play against the New England Patriots as he continues to heal from an ankle injury suffered in Week 5 against Buffalo and aggravated often over the past six weeks.
'It's very frustrating because it's been one of those injuries that's been kind of lingering,' Bush said. 'I've been trying to do my best to just get as healthy as I can and be as smart as I can about it. Obviously, I don't plan on getting injured when I go back in the game.
"
'It's just one of those things that happened last time I was out there so hopefully not playing this past game will pay dividends for this week.'

Bush Still Healing from Ankle Issue
Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush will be held out of Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals in an effort to heal his injured ankle.
Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com reported the news:
Bush is showing signs of wear and tear and potential decline at age 29, which is rather commonplace in the modern NFL.
The Lions have one of the league's least productive running games, but they have leaned on gunslinger quarterback Matthew Stafford and an elite defense to vault them into surprise NFC contention.
Nevertheless, if Bush can get close to 100 percent, there is no denying the talent that the former No. 2 overall draft pick possesses. His former New Orleans Saints teammate Drew Brees lauded Bush's natural ability before Detroit's Week 7 victory, via NOLA.com's Larry Holder:
Bush ultimately left that matchup with the Saints due to a nagging ankle injury, and his status has been an ongoing concern for the Lions.
Getting him healthy has to be a priority because Joique Bell is the only truly proven back remaining on the Lions' depth chart. Sixth-round pick Theo Riddick has flashed some potential already, though it has largely come in the passing game.
Bush's best asset is his big-play ability, but at less than 100 percent his impact is limited. Getting him back to full health for the postseason run is obviously key for the team's long-term success.
