Are you just tired and sick of the Seattle SuperSonics’ current dilemma? Is it blind optimism to believe the Sonics can still stay in Seattle? (Although we’ll see them for one more year) I’m aware that I’ve been talking about the Sonics a lot. The Sonics have been the hot topic for discussion, and deservingly so, when thinking about all the stuff that’s going on. But, I know that the there are brighter things to write about. If you agree with me, well then, you’ll be pleased, because after the Sonics leave I won’t be writing about them a whole bunch! After the overwhelming owner’s vote, many writers, fans, and players are throwing in the red towel. However there is some good out of all of this, I guess. For all those who are depressed, a fan on 206proof offered his thoughts:

-We keep the history of the Sonics. All we lose is the crappy years with the bad coaches, and players. (minus Kevin Durant and Jeff Green)

-We’ll probably have an expansion team by like 2011

-One of the best rivalries was born: Seattle vs. Oklahoma City

My Rebuttals:

-We are going to lose Kevin Durant and possibly Beasley or Derrick Rose…It’s hard to believe that Oklahoma City is going to have a championship caliber team, but that was the whole master-plan put into place when Clay hired Sam Presti

-Even without Beasley or Rose or Jeff Green…Kevin Durant is going to be one of the best to ever play the game

It’s going to be weird not having an NBA team, I’ve grown up taking it for granted for having 3 professional sports teams. Although I wasn’t the biggest Sonics fan, they held my hometown loyalties and when they leave it’s going to be tough to swallow. I wonder if some people feel the same way I do about this.
