It's almost that time of year again Tide fans. The time of year when every single Saturday fom September to November is planned out to the most minute detail. It's football season. Not just any football season.... College football season. Not just any college football seaon... ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE football season!

As I sit here waiting patiently for September 2nd, I can almost hear the sounds, smell the smells, and feel the roar of the crowds. Here are just a few things that describe what Alabama football is to me.

Alabama football is:

Starting the grill at 6 a.m. because the game starts at 11:30.

Enough food on said grill to feed a small country.

A long sleeve Crimson T-shirt on a chilly October evening.

Eli Gold's voice coming from my trucks radio as I sit on the tailgate with my friends.

Cold beer. A case in the cooler and one in the fridge.

50 text messages in less than a minute after Prothro made "The Catch."

Chill bumps all over my body everytime I walk into Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The look on Tommy Tubberville's face after a 36-0 pounding by The Tide.

My 5 year old daughter in pig tails and her John Parker Wilson jersey.

The rush of adreneline when The Million Dollar Band strikes up a tune.

Listening to Lee Corso's latest reason Alabama WON'T win on Saturday.

Listening to Kirk Herbstreit agree with Lee Corso.

Beating the hell out of any team who's colors include Orange! YUCK

And last but not least. . . The feeling of awe I get everytime I see a photo or old clip of Bear Bryant.

Of course this is not all the things that come to mind when I think of Bama football. I could go on and on about the Saturday's I spent with my dad as a kid watchig The Tide, but hey. . . . . That's another story.
