WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from September 29
Only weeks away from Hell in a Cell 2014, WWE delivered an episode of Monday Night Raw that started hot, bogged down in the middle significantly and then picked up just in time to leave a lasting impression on fans.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were the focal points of this week's show, starring at the beginning, middle and end of the broadcast. Their rivalry has been one of the highlights of the company over the last four months, and Monday night was yet another chapter in their story.
Alicia Fox returned to Raw and was immediately thrown into the midst of the Divas Championship feud between AJ Lee and Paige. By helping the Brit assault the titleholder, did she form an unholy alliance with Paige, or was their brief partnership Monday night merely a marriage of convenience?

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After months of being overshadowed by Seth Rollins and shoved to the background, Kane and Randy Orton both exhibited signs of frustration with their spots in The Authority. Will that lead to the eventual breakup that everyone knows is coming within the most powerful group in wrestling, or will the dissension be overcome, making the faction that much stronger?
While not necessarily a blow-you-away episode of the show, Raw did feature some intriguing stories and a great Intercontinental Championship match.
Here are the winners and losers from this week's broadcast.
Winner: Dean Ambrose
The rise of Dean Ambrose continued Monday night, as he was heavily featured throughout the show and never looked out of place sharing the screen with main event stars such as John Cena, Triple H and Randy Orton.
Increasingly popular because of his anti-authority stance and his unpredictability, Ambrose has the edginess that would have helped him fit right in during the Attitude Era.
His some of his short remarks regarding Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury ("They sent the cruiserweight division out to get me) and the police officers escorting Rollins ("I could have sworn you guys were Rosebuds last week") were hilarious and showed the off-the-cuff nature Ambrose could bring to promos if allowed to deviate from the script and interject a little of his own personality into his mic work.
The ring work during the main event was crisp, and he sold the post-match beatdown by Rollins, Orton and Kane to perfection. A great night for Ambrose, one that could very well serve as the emphasis for his continued push as a main event star even well after Roman Reigns returns from injury.
Losers: Everyone Involved With Slater Gator vs. Los Matadores
The segment featuring Los Matadores, Slater Gator, Hornswoggle, El Torito and the Bunny was easily the worst of the year thus far. It was so incredibly childish, so idiotic that fans had no choice but to sit back and question whether or not WWE Creative was inebriated when it thought up the entire ordeal.
Hornswoggle in an alligator costume? Heath Slater continuously selling the offense of a man in a giant bunny suit? This, ladies and gentlemen, was what aired on Raw as the Monday Night Football game between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs went to halftime. Who the hell would possibly want to stick around to watch the rest of the show when this was the hot garbage the company was producing?
Winner: Alicia Fox
After a short television hiatus, Alicia Fox returned to Raw Monday night and made an immediate impact, pairing with Paige to assault Divas champion AJ Lee. On first glance, the idea that Fox would partner with the young woman who brought on her mental breakdown earlier this year makes no sense. Upon further examination, though, someone who is as unstable and potentially psychotic as Fox would not make rational decisions.
That she came back after months away from television and instantly became involved in the Divas Championship picture indicates that her involvement in meaningful action and stories is far from over. It will be interesting to see if WWE Creative continues to push her as Paige's associate, as a potential No. 1 contender or merely as an equal to the top two Divas in the division.
Winners: Randy Orton and Kane
It appears as though the days of The Viper and The Demon playing second fiddle to Seth Rollins, of filling the role of "yes men" for The Authority, are coming to a close. Monday night, they were very vocal about their displeasure with cleaning up Rollins' messes, something that was overheard by Stephanie McMahon. The boss egged her employees on, discussing what some consider weaknesses and a lack of desire on their part.
While it served to ignite a fire underneath them that led to the beatdown of Ambrose and Cena later in the night, it could come back to bite Stephanie and The Authority in the backside, especially if Orton and Kane continue to grow sick and tired of protecting the golden boy, Rollins.
Loser: Bo Dallas
Would you want to take the beating that Dallas did after beating Mark Henry? Didn't think so.
Winner: Rusev
The Bulgarian Brute speaks English. Not just that, he speaks English well enough to make visceral, terroristic threats to Big Show, threats that include ripping his guts out. As if Rusev was not already absolutely imposing and intimidating, now he speaks. No longer is he forced to sit back and allow Lana to talk for him, though it would be a mistake to phase her out given the fact that she is a major part of the heat the character generates.
Still, for the long-term prospects of the character, it needed to be established that he could talk for himself, and on Monday night he did just that.
Winners: Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and The Miz
On a night when quality wrestling was not on the docket, intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler continued to bring legitimacy and credibility back to the title with another stellar match. After weeks of interacting with both The Miz and Cesaro, he defeated his rivals in a great Triple Threat match.
Easily the match of the night, maybe the week, the Superstars delivered a strong showing that ensured that quality wrestling would not become a complete afterthought by night's end.
