Tony Eury Jr. Blames Media: What About Blaming Himself?

When I got home from work this Monday, I looked on the counter and there was my weekly subscription of NASCAR Scene. I looked at the front cover, and there was Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his dad. But that wasn't what caught my attention. It was what was in the upper left-hand corner of the cover that I was confused.

Sure enough I read it right. Tony Eury Jr. is blaming the media for Earnhardt Jr.'s struggles. Sure Tony, let's think about this for a second.

Since the 2009 season has started it's been a struggle for Dale Jr. Everyone knows that and it's no secret, so let's blame the media shall we? And take full blame off of the shoulder's of the two men most responsible for Earnhardt Jr.'s lack of success: Junior himself and his cousin/ex crew chief, Eury Jr.

Let's blame the media and see if it makes sense.

It was the media's fault during the Daytona 500, when Earnhardt Jr. missed his pit sign three times because the media is in control of the racecar and is in Jr.'s ear telling him where his pit stall is. Sure, that makes sense.

It was the media who blew up Earnhardt Jr.'s engine at California, getting his season off to an even better start.

It was the media who crashed at Phoenix, and then got in a pushing and shoving match with Casey Mears. It was the media who egged it on, putting you and your cousin on probation. The media must have reported that wrong too, huh Tony?

It was the media who got in an accident with Jeff Burton at Richmond, Jr.'s so called best track, making him finish two laps down.

It was the media who got into the wall at Darlington.

It was the media who made the No. 88 car of Hendrick Motorsports handle like complete doo-doo (happy Kelly?) at Charlotte, embarrassing Rick Hendrick's organization to the breaking point. It was the media that got you fired now wasn't it? Dang media, always causing trouble.

Let Tony Eury Jr. blame the media. It's his selfishness that makes him place blame on the media.

Taking the full blame and putting it somewhere other then himself? Sounds like it runs in the family doesn't it?

There's a reason why the best owner in the business moved you down the ladder in his organization. It's not because of the media. It's because your chemistry wasn't there. It was because you were not good at your job. It was because you couldn't get the best team in the business past 19th in the points. That's why you were fired.

Quit being like your cousin and try and place the blame elsewhere. We all have eyes, and we all witnessed Charlotte
