In the recent months with so many frustrating last minute canceled fights due to injuries it appears that next month in August boxing will be right back on track with a whole month full of action packed fights.

It all kicks off Saturday August 1 on Showtime with veteran Nate Campbell 33(25) -5-2  vs undefeated Timothy Bradley 24(11)-0 for the WBO JR. Welterweight Championship.

As much as I like both of these exciting fighters this very well may be a passing of the torch where the highly anticipated Bradley will answer many questions such as if he is the next young American champ to bring some noise back to the USA?

On the undercard of this fight is Devon Alexander 18(11)-0 vs Junior Witter 37(22)-2  for the WBC Super Lightweight Championship another.

Alexander is also another hot American prospect who too is undefeated and will let us know if he truly is great as his nickname suggests against the very proven Hitter Witter who has already been in the ring with some of the best names of his division.

The following Friday August 7 on ESPN's Friday Night Fights is the return of Alfredo Angulo 15(12)-1 vs Gabriel Rosado 12(6)-3.  Dyah Davis 15(7)-1 vs Andre Dirrell 18(13)-0. Direll again is another rising undefeated American who is said to be facing WBC Super Middleweight Champion Carl Froch next should he get passed Davis.

The Saturday after that August 15th is the legendary Roy Jones Junior 53(39)-5  vs Jeff Lacy 25(17)-2 fight taking place on PPV.

If Jones gets passed Lacy which seems to be the case then the word is it will be Jones vs Danny Green 26(23)-3 in Austrailia for Green's belts should he win against Julio Cesar Dominguez 20(14)-4 who are also fighting on this undercard.

Also on Saturday August 15 is pound for pound ranked Nonito Donaire 21(14)-1 vs Rafael Concepcion 13(8)-3. Donaire is going up to challenge for the interim WBA World Super Flyweight Title. Steven Luevano 36(15)-1 vs Bernabe Concepcion 29(16)-1 for the WBO Featherweight title will be on this PPV undercard as well.

Then next Saturday after that August 22nd is the return of Juan Diaz 34(17)-2 vs Paul Malignaggi 26(5)-2 on HBO's Boxing After Dark. This should be an interesting match up for Juan Diaz is an exciting pressure fighter who has a lot to prove since his exciting knock out loss to Marquez and Malignaggi is a slick boxer who tends to move.

Then Friday the 28 on ESPN's Friday Night Fights the powerhouse Juan Urango 21(17)-2-1 fights knock out artist Randall Bailey 38(34)-6 for the IBF Light Welterweight Title.

Finally on Saturday August 29 is the return of the long anticipated delayed HBO 24/7 Series starring Juan Manuel Marquez vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. This HBO 24/7 Series as well as the fight got pushed back due to an injury to Mayweather's ribs.

So there you have it fight fans we were in a bit of a slump for a few months but it seems we will be right back on track finishing the 2009 strong if the rest of 2009 looks as good as the month of August.
